X/Twitter Now Allows Pornography And Other Adult Content In New Policy

X (formerly Twitter) will now allow pornography and explicit AI content on its platform.

They might as well change their name to XXX.

Over the weekend, X updated its adult content policy to allow users to post explicit material, which includes sexual acts and full nudity. Their policy reads, "You may share consensually produced and distributed adult nudity or sexual behavior, provided it's properly labeled and not prominently displayed."

X defines adult material as "any consensually produced and distributed material depicting adult nudity or sexual behavior that is pornographic or intended to cause sexual arousal." The company says the mandate applies to AI-generated pornography, whether or not it's "photographic or animated content such as cartoons, hentai, or anime."

If you're wondering why the company would allow degeneracy, it's because X sees pornography as a "form of expression." I'd argue that pornographic material and AI images perpetuate the mistreatment of women, ruin men's lives, promote unhealthy habits, and demoralize people. It's a form of exploitation. “We believe that users should be able to create, distribute, and consume material related to sexual themes as long as it is consensually produced and distributed. Sexual expression, visual or written, can be a legitimate form of artistic expression,” X added.

Just last week, Musk encouraged people to share photos of their children on X in a now-deleted tweet. "Post your family pics on X!" he wrote. I'm not sure why he removed the tweet, but it is disturbing to ask people to share images of their children on a site where pornography is allowed.

X also permits people over the age of 13 to create accounts, which raises more concerns about the safety of children on its platform. According to their new NSFW rule, they will restrict exposure to adult content for "children or adult users who choose not to see it." But minors can lie easily about their age, and there's no telling if the company's algorithm will do a good job of blocking all pornographic material.

When it comes to violent content, X said the content should not be “excessively gory or depicting sexual violence.”

The policy maintains that underage users cannot access adult content. "Users under 18 or viewers who do not include a birth date on their profile cannot click to view marked content," they said.

No wonder advertisers are pulling out of X.
