Donald Trump has been indicted on charges by a New York grand jury over hush money payments he reportedly made to pornstar Stormy Daniels during his 2016 presidential campaign. According to CBS News, the former president was believed to have paid the adult film star $130,000, who alleges they had an affair. He's denied these allegations numerous times.

In 2018, Michael Cohen – Trump's lawyer – admitted guilt to eight federal crimes. Cohen pleaded guilty to organizing unlawful payments to Trump's campaign on the same day he reportedly paid the porn star.

The indictment makes former president Donald Trump the first person in U.S. history to serve as the commander-in-chief and get charged with a crime. Trump has stated that an indictment would not stop him from campaigning for another term in 2024.

Taylor Budowich, Head of Make America Great Again, Inc., writes, "This is not an indictment of a crime—there was no crime—instead, this news is the indictment of a failed nation. President Trump is promising to peacefully end the war in Ukraine, dismantle the deep state, and save our country by putting America first. For that, the political elites and powerbrokers have weaponized government to try and stop him. They will fail. He will be re-elected in the greatest landslide in American history, and together we will all Make America Great Again."

The indictment has not yet been unsealed, so charges and specific allegations remain unclear.
