Nicola Peltz Beckham shared a series of heartbreaking posts about her chihuahua, Nala. The model is suing the groomer for alleged abuse and the death of her pet and is seeking unspecified damages.

According to ET, court documents show that the wife of David and Victoria Beckham's son, Brooklyn Beckham, is suing HoundSpa, its owner, and its groomer for the "intentional and malicious abuse of dogs, which caused the death of Nicola's healthy dog, Nala."

Last month, Nicola took to Instagram to share photos of her and Brooklyn with Nala. The model claims in her caption that Nala came out of the groomers "hyperventilating." She passed hours after they rushed her to the vet clinic. "This has been the hardest month of my life. i can’t even find the words to describe my heartbreak on so many levels. nala was perfectly healthy when she went to the groomers yesterday but came out hyperventilating and couldn’t catch her breath. we rushed her to the vet and she passed hours later [sic]," she wrote in the caption.

"I’m sharing this in hopes that it might prevent this from happening to other dogs. her life was taken away from her way too soon. she was my beautiful queen and stayed by my side for 9 years through everything," Nicole continued. "Please be careful who you send your dogs to because you don’t know what goes on behind closed doors. 1 day without nala on earth feels like an eternity. i wish i could have her back in my arms. i pray she’s with my naunni. i hope i see them soon 💔"

The documents reveal that for years, Nicola and her family used HoundSpa's mobile grooming services to groom their dogs. In 2022, complaints were allegedly made to the company regarding their treatment of Nicola's brother and girlfriend's dog. She further claims the owner "received and knew of many other complaints alleging [the groomer's] abuse and mistreatment of dogs."

"Nala was put on oxygen and cared for as Nicola distressingly and emotionally witnessed her dog suffer," the lawsuit further claims, stating that Nicola had to experience “damages and emotional distress” after watching Nala pass away.

The couple is seen in front of Nala's grave in her latest IG post. "I am truly still in so much shock and pain over my baby Nala suddenly passing away last month following what should have been a routine grooming session," she wrote. Her goal is to bring awareness, saying she had heard similar stories from others experiencing the same tragedy.

She continued, "I can't bear it. I'm outraged to hear how common stories like Nala's are." Nicola is urging for laws to better protect animals and their owners.

"I've dedicated most of my life savings [to] dogs and I can't in good conscience let this horrifying act happen to more families," she said. "I will work for changes and always help make sure no one else ever has to experience this heartbreak. I will always use my voice to protect our innocent babies."
