John Krasinski Named "Sexiest Man Alive" 2024

John Krasinski just snagged People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” title, but not everyone is excited about it.

According to the magazine, when Krasinski got the big news, he was fully convinced he was getting pranked. “Just immediate blackout, actually. Zero thoughts,” he tells People in this week’s cover story.

“Other than maybe I'm being punked. That's not how I wake up, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I'll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me.” His reaction was as relatable as it gets – not to be rude, but Krasinski didn’t see this one coming either.

Krasinski fans who know him for his iconic role as Jim in The Office are celebrating his win. The man is not only fit and funny but also has range. In Jack Ryan, the actor successfully pulled off the broody and heroic persona.

And, how could we forget the family man Krasinski, who’s been living that Brooklyn dad life with his wife Emily Blunt, their daughters Hazel, 10, and Violet, 8. When he shared the “Sexiest Man Alive” news with Blunt, she was apparently all in (as any loving wife would be). “There was a lot of joy involved in me telling her,” he said.

While the Krasinskis are celebrating the actor's new title, other people on social media aren’t holding back. @ABeardedHero asked, “When Theo James exists?!!” Fans believe Glen Powell, Jonathan Bailey, and Henry Cavill were snubbed.

One user, @buffys, minced no words with, “They could’ve chosen someone better ngl.” And then there’s @pavlyndon, who responded with the kind of over-the-top flair only Twitter can provide: “JOHN KRASINSKI??????” they wrote, complete with a gif of Rose McGowan looking beyond distressed. “OUR NATION'S MOST TRYING HOUR AND YOU GIVE US JOHN KRASINSKI?!?!?!”

But let’s not forget Krasinski’s defenders. One fan tweeted, “john krasinski is legitimately sexy. People ate that one thing.” At least it's better than Benny Blanco.
