Jennifer Love Hewitt, 44, rose to fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s, starring in TV series like Party of Five and the horror flick I Know What You Did Last Summer. The Hewitt we know frequented our screens when she was in her early to mid-20s. The actress has aged gracefully since, welcoming three children in the past decade with her husband, Brian Hallisay.

In a recent interview with the Inside of You podcast with Michael Rosenbaum, the Trojan War star revealed how difficult it is to deal with aging while under the spotlight. In a viral clip from TikTok, she said, "Aging in Hollywood is really hard. You can't do anything, right?"

Aging in Hollywood is really hard.

When a recent photo of Hewitt reached social media, people speculated that she used filters because she looked "bad." "A few weeks ago, I was getting my hair done, and I had not a stitch of makeup on, so I threw on a filter. I really gave it no thought, and the picture ended up somewhere, and a bunch of people were like, 'Jennifer Love Hewitt is unrecognizable. She's unrecognizable, so she's gone to filters because she doesn't want us to know how bad she actually looks now in her 40s.'"

Hewitt decided to play with the crowd by using over-the-top filters on Instagram: "I was like, 'all-natural, no filter,'" she joked, but the post flew over peoples' heads. "And then they came after me for that, and they were like, 'Well, now she's just defending herself.'"

Hewitt’s openness vividly portrays the struggles women experience in Hollywood and on social media. A-listers are constantly compared to old photos of themselves on obnoxious X posts captioned, “What happened?” What happened is she got older, duh. Besides, Hewitt looks great for her age – people just haven't seen her in a while.

Despite the pressure coming from all sides to look youthful, Hewitt unashamedly shows her natural face from time to time. Last year, the 44-year-old shared a makeup-free selfie on the 'gram. "I posted this pic earlier and have heard lot of positive thoughts. It means so much to me because aging is weird. And growing up with you guys over 33 years has been amazing but the filters of it all can be tricky," she admitted. "You can’t help but want to look better or even perfect to keep up. They are so fun but they also can be really hard because you can forget to feel good about your real face. Maybe I just need to be better at the balance. Anyway thanks for letting me share and feel good as just me today. Love to you all❤️."
