Did Marvel’s New "Fantastic Four" Poster Use AI? Fans Spot Four Fingers And Repeated Imagery
Not only did the new "Fantastic Four" teaser seemingly recycle the same sound bite three times, but Marvel is also facing AI accusations over a promotional poster.

Marvel Studios just released its first teaser for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and while the trailer received a decent reception, the promotional campaign has already been a miss with audiences.
Marvel dropped a new poster alongside the teaser, featuring a celebratory crowd waving Fantastic Four flags with the tagline, "Prepare 4 launch." What fans noticed was unsettling.
Twitter/X user @RedBlackFilms flagged the oddities first, pointing out a slew of Photoshop fails made the whole thing appear AI-generated. Among his highlights were a random arm that wasn't attached to anyone, repeat faces, an object casting only half a shadow, and a person whose hand had only four fingers.
Marvel Denies Using AI
Social media users on X and Bluesky called Marvel out for seemingly taking the lazy route, even though Marvel denies using AI. The skepticism was warranted since the studio had already caught heat for using AI in Secret Invasion’s opening credits last year.
According to TheWrap, a spokesperson for Marvel has denied that AI had any role in the poster’s creation. Does that mean this was a result of bad Photoshop, then?
As if the poster drama wasn’t enough, sharp-eared fans also found something off in the teaser. According to @strangeharbors on X, "Same 'kids laughing' stock audio played three times in 20 seconds. Disney reaching completely unprecedented levels of not giving a sh*t."
Another user, @itsisaacjoel, commented, "i don’t know why it’s so hard for hollywood to just get a sound bit of kids running and laughing." That’s a fair question. Disney has billion-dollar budgets, yet somehow, their sound design is giving YouTube fan edits.
Audiences are already showing signs of superhero exhaustion, and reboots alone won’t fix that. Meanwhile, Disney fans are already showing their dissatisfaction with the media giant. While Moana 2 has been a rare bright spot at the box office, Disney+ lost 700,000 subscribers last quarter thanks to price hikes, content removals, and ads. Rather than actually trying to revive the iconic Fantastic Four by improving it, Marvel seems to be using it just to stay relevant. Maybe The Fantastic Four: First Steps will still win audiences over if Disney starts listening to its fanbase.
