Fall is the best time of the year, and that’s especially true if you, like me, are a coffee lover (a.k.a. addict). We’re all familiar with fall coffee icons like the pumpkin spice latte, or PSL, but why stop at pumpkin when there’s so much more of fall to love? Maple, cinnamon, pecan, apple – there are so many delicious fall flavors to work with when it comes to crafting the perfect coffee.

Treating yourself to specialty coffee drinks can get add up quickly, but who needs Starbucks when you can make better, healthier alternatives at home? Here are 12 delicious coffee recipes you can make in the comfort of your own kitchen that are guaranteed to keep you feeling cozy and caffeinated all fall long.

Pumpkin Spice Latte

Of course, we have to start off with the GOAT of fall coffee drinks: the pumpkin spice latte. Unlike Starbucks, however, you can whip this up at home without the excessive sugar and fake flavorings using ingredients you probably already have on hand to create the perfect latte you can feel good about drinking.

Maple Iced Frappé

Pumpkin tends to get all the glory this time of year, but there are other fall flavors you can (and should!) work into your rotation, like maple. This iced maple frappé is the perfect option for warmer fall days when you want something seasonal, but might not be feeling ready for a pumpkin spice latte yet.

Caramel Apple Latte

Another great alternative to pumpkin spice (if you need an alternative) is all things apple! You might think that apple and coffee don’t go together, but this is a flavor combination you’re going to want to try – especially since caramel is also getting in on the action. This caramel apple latte is like the coffee version of snacking on a caramel apple at a fall harvest festival.

Pumpkin Cream Chai Latte

If you’re more of a tea drinker or simply want a drink with slightly less caffeine, chai lattes are a great coffee alternative. Chai already has all the fall flavors we love like ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, and cloves, and the addition of pumpkin in this recipe makes it even more festive. Pro tip: If you’re missing the coffee flavor or need a little more caffeine, you could make it “dirty” by adding a shot of espresso!

Iced Maple Brown Sugar Latte

This iced maple brown sugar latte legitimately sounds like something you’d find on a Starbucks menu. Except now, instead of downing 50 grams of sugar, you can tailor this festive beverage to your personal sweetness preferences. This recipe also calls for oat milk if you’re looking for a dairy-free option. Plant-based milks can really be substituted for regular milk in any recipe without much of a noticeable difference, though.

Carrot Cake Iced Latte

Carrot cake is one of my all-time favorite desserts, and while you can technically eat it year-round, the flavors are definitely more geared toward fall. You’ve got cinnamon, cloves, allspice, ginger – the gang’s all here. And with a quarter cup of carrot juice, this carrot cake iced latte will also help you hit your daily vegetable goals.

Iced Pecan Crunch Latte

I’d never considered adding crunch to my coffee before coming across this recipe, but now I am officially coffee crunch-curious. If toasting your own pecans seems like a step too far, you can also just use the pre-toasted kind you buy at the store. Don’t worry, I won’t tell. So if you’re looking for something a little different (and a little nutty) for your daily dose of coffee, then definitely give this iced pecan crunch latte a whirl!

Honey Cinnamon Latte

The best thing about fall flavors in my opinion is that they’re the perfect combination of sweet and spicy. Like with this honey cinnamon latte. The warming spice of cinnamon pairs with the rich sweetness of honey to create the perfect cozy sip. Plus you probably already have both honey and cinnamon in your cupboard, so this is one fall beverage you can make right now – no need to run to the store to pick up any extra ingredients.

Cookie Butter Latte with Apple Spice Sweet Cream

This cookie butter latte with apple spice sweet cream is probably the most decadent beverage on our list and the most labor-intensive. If you’re feeling ambitious and have a hankering for something sweeter that combines some of the best flavors fall has to offer, this latte is a great option that would make the perfect afternoon pick-me-up.

Maple Cinnamon Cold Brew

If you’re the kind of person who drinks cold brew year-round, no matter how low the temperature outside drops, then this maple cinnamon cold brew is the perfect drink for you. If you make a large batch of cold brew at the beginning of the week, you can whip it up in less than 60 seconds. If you want a hot coffee option, then fear not! This recipe works with hot brewed coffee too.

Honey Cinnamon Iced Shaken Espresso

Do you, like me, have a cocktail shaker sitting around that you never use? Well, this recipe is the perfect excuse to break it out. You’ll feel like a bartender shaking up this honey cinnamon iced shaken espresso. This is the kind of drink that would be perfect if you have guests over because it looks fancy and complicated, but it’s actually pretty simple. Just combine the standard latte ingredients, give them a shake, and voila!

Apple Butter Latte

Apple butter is something I would typically want to spread on a slice of warm sourdough, not put in my coffee, but if the drinks on this list have taught us anything, it’s that we need to think outside the box when it comes to autumnal coffee recipe development! This latte is a great way to use any apple butter you might have picked up at your local farmer’s market or fall festival.

And there you have it! Twelve different fall coffee options that will make you feel festive and caffeinated. Some of the recipes on this list might seem complicated, but at the end of the day, it’s really just the same basic ingredients (coffee, milk, sugar, and spices) combined in different ways, with a few additional ingredients tossed in here and there. You do not need to be a professional barista to pull all of these recipes off – trust me. So slip into some comfy leggings, break out your coziest oversized sweater, and whip up one of these yummy fall coffees.
