11 Celebrities Who Have Collapsed From "Unknown" Medical Complications In 2023 So Far

A bold mix of narratives was weaponized by either side of the aisle during the height of Covid-19 lockdowns. Some people got the vaccine, experienced no known side effects, and will continue through life feeling no different from how they felt before. But, when others raised a skeptical eyebrow over the speed of the therapeutic gene treatment’s development, its efficacy, or its necessity, a vocal majority shot them down and censored dissent – lest it cause others to become reasonably suspicious.

You’re not crazy for wanting to wait for more data before you become one of the over 80% of Americans who took at least one dose of Big Pharma’s experimental cocktail. It’s still quite unpopular to point out the many flaws with Covid-19 vaccines – and frankly, it’s irresponsible to chalk up all mysterious medical complications to vaccine-related conditions – but I just can’t quite remember hearing stories like these so frequently prior to the pandemic.

Note: I’m not a medical professional, nor have I ever claimed to be. I do not have access to any of these individuals’ medical records. All speculation surrounding each celebrity’s medical complications is just that – speculation.

1. Tori Kelly

Singer-songwriter and actress Tori Kelly first got her start on YouTube before competing on American Idol’s ninth season. Since signing with her first record label, Kelly’s name has made Billboard charts and she has received Grammy nominations and awards for her music.

On July 23, 2023, Kelly was having dinner with friends in Los Angeles. She suddenly passed out after her heart rate quickened, which led her friends to take her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Doctors found blood clots in her legs and around her vital organs. The 30-year-old singer’s husband, André Murillo, kept her fans updated on social media since she had intended to release new music on July 28.

“Tori is smiling again and feeling stronger. Not fully out of the woods but we see the sun. Just waiting on a few more answers,” Murillo shared on his Instagram Story on July 26. “Your love and kindness has been overwhelming. Thank you so much! ❤️.”

2. Dr. Alfredo Victoria Moreno

Physician and health advocate Dr. Alfredo Victoria Moreno made a name for himself contributing vaccination-related commentary on Mexican television following the COVID-19 outbreak.

Though he had no known pre-existing health conditions, Dr. Alfredo suddenly died at age 42 in July, 2023 from a myocardial infarction, AKA a heart attack. From mere photographic evidence, Dr. Alfredo appeared to be physically fit.

Dr. Alfredo had amassed an Instagram following of around 440,000 and his videos went viral on TikTok, espousing the safety, efficacy, and importance of getting the jab. At one point, Dr. Alfredo took interest in politics, and ran for a mayoral race as a Social Encounter Party (PES) candidate. Additionally, Dr. Alfredo ran a website called provaccines.com and would even vaccinate presenters on live television.

3. Jaime Foxx

Academy Award winning actor Jaime Foxx is best known for his roles portraying Ray Charles in the 2004 film Ray and Django Freeman in the 2012 film Django Unchained. He got his start in sketch comedy, but has since diversified his entertainment portfolio as a Grammy winning singer.

On April 11, 2023, Foxx was admitted to the hospital, and the following day his daughter shared publicly that he had experienced a medical complication. On an episode of Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, Foxx’s friend and fellow Hollywood star Kevin Hart shared that he had been recovering, and then on May 12 his daughter expanded on his health status by sharing that he had been playing pickleball.

Additional sources like actor John Boyega came forward to share that they had been in contact with Foxx and that he would be back to work soon, but other sources shared that he still wasn’t himself.

Foxx kept a somewhat elusive, vague social media presence throughout his recovery. But, on July 21, he posted a video to Instagram writing: “Thank u a billion to everybody… been a long road but all the prayers great people and God got me through…. 🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️”

Foxx said that he “went to hell and back,” but did not share specifics about his illness. There has been significant speculation surrounding Foxx’s mysterious health scare, but according to NBC, a spokesperson for the actor said claims over Foxx’s vaccination status are “completely inaccurate.”

4. Johnny Depp

Actor Johnny Depp, best known for his performance as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, is also a musician in the band Hollywood Vampires with rock musicians Alice Cooper and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry.

After his very public legal drama with ex-wife actress Amber Heard, Depp has been living in Europe and performing with his band. On July 18, 2023, a Budapest concert for the Hollywood Vampires was canceled at the last minute because Depp had allegedly passed out in his hotel room.

One source had said that Depp was “over-excited” but additionally shared that calls had been made to see if he had just been “simply overdoing it as a rock star.” Depp has had substance use issues in the past, so it's unclear if that played a role as well. He will reportedly be returning to his tour as well as to the Pirates film franchise.

5. CJ Harris

31-year-old singer CJ Harris became famous after his appearance competing on American Idol in 2014. He made it to the top six and became friends with and the mentee of singer Darius Rucker. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Harris once shared that he had auditioned for the reality show on a whim.

“I saw they were doing the bus tour and they were going to be 30 minutes down the road from me,'” he said, explaining that he had failed to make it onto The X Factor and The Voice. “I said, ‘You know what? I'm going to give it another chance. I've gotten so much better, my voice has matured, and my playing has gotten so much better. I'm 23, before you know it I'll be 33, and I want to give it another chance.”

On January 15, 2023, Harris suffered a heart attack and was sent in an ambulance to Walker Baptist Medical Center in Alabama. However, shortly after arriving at the emergency room, Harris was pronounced dead. The reason for his sudden heart attack has not been shared publicly since his tragic passing.

6. Lynette “Diamond” Hardaway

Lynette Hardaway, known as Diamond, was part of a political commentary duo with her sister Rochelle “Silk” Richardson. The conservative sisters rose to fame during President Donald Trump’s 2016 election, became frequent guests on Fox News, and amassed millions of followers on social media.

On January 8, 2023, Silk found her sister Diamond on the kitchen floor after she heard her cry out, “I can’t breathe.” Diamond’s unexpected death was rumored to have been related to her cardiovascular health since Silk spoke out on camera asserting that she was there when it happened, that it happened “suddenly,” and that she wanted Americans to pay attention. But others have stated that it had nothing to do with blood clots.

7. Shaka Hislop

Retired soccer star Shaka Hislop is best known for his time as a goalkeeper for Newcastle United in England. He played for several other soccer teams during his career, but upon retiring he joined ESPN as a commentator.

On July 23, 2023, Hislop and his co-host Dan Thomas were on-camera for a live pre-match segment ahead of an AC Milan vs. Real Madrid game. As he started to lose his balance, wobbled, and fell forward, co-host Thomas called for help. Thomas shared later that day that medics were looking after Hislop and that he was conscious.

“Obviously, [it’s] far too early to make any sort of diagnosis, but the important thing is that Shaka is conscious. And we spoke to his family as well, because you imagine seeing that happen live – there can’t be many more things that can scare you amongst the family,” Thomas said during the game.

In a video released later, Hislop said that he was seeking medical opinions for this “awkward” incident. Some have speculated that his medical scare was related to his vaccination status, but others have pointed out that the 91 degree heat in Pasadena, California that day could have been the cause. As of now, there are no official, public diagnoses made regarding this incident.

8. Marquise Goodwin

Football wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns Marquise Goodwin has played for many NFL teams: the Seattle Seahawks, the Chicago Bears, the San Francisco 49ers, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Buffalo Bills. Prior to his time playing football, Goodwin had been an Olympic track and field athlete.

On July 21, 2023, the Browns announced that he was placed on their illness list due to suffering from blood clots in his legs and lungs. Goodwin called the blood clots “alarming” and pointed out that it was the only injury he had experienced so far in his athletic career.

“It was frightening at first, but now I’m at ease with it. I’ve prayed and just given it over to God,” he said. “It’s one of those things that is totally out of my control, out of the doctor’s control, and out of the trainer’s control. It’s really an unfortunate deal we have to deal with, but we need to deal with it in the proper fashion.”

9. Deion Sanders

Deion Sanders played in the NFL for 14 seasons, winning two Super Bowl titles, and was a Major League Baseball outfielder who played in the 1992 World Series. Sanders, the only athlete to ever play in both a World Series and the Super Bowl, has been the head coach at the University of Colorado since 2022.

On June 26, 2023, news broke that Sanders had undergone surgery for two blood clots in his legs, and on July 20, 2023, the New York Post reported that he had to undergo more surgeries related to blood clots in his legs.

“I went to the doctor the other day to check myself out, and I have two clots in my leg,” Sanders said. “One in my right leg, one in my left leg, which is my thighs. So now, I’m having a procedure tomorrow to try to get those clots, so now I can have proper blood flow through the leg so they can fix the toes.”

In 2021, Sanders had to get two toes surgically amputated due to a blood clot situation and was even advised by doctors that he should consider amputating his entire foot.

10. Bronny James

The 18-year-old son of Lebron James, Bronny James, is following in his father’s footsteps and now plays college basketball for the University of Southern California (USC) Trojans. While still attending high school, James was named a McDonald’s All-American player.

On July 24, 2023, James suffered a cardiac arrest at USC’s Galen Center indoor athletic facility. In a recording of the 911 call, operators asked if a doctor or registered nurse was on the scene to perform CPR while the ambulances were on their way, but the caller said no.

James was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and was reportedly alert upon arrival. He was released from the hospital three days later, but the cause of the young basketball star’s cardiac arrest is not yet diagnosed nor yet shared with the public.

11. Jennie Kim

South Korean pop star Jennie Kim is known mononymously as Jennie and performs with the girl group Blackpink. Jennie is also a solo musician and actress of more recent fame from the HBO series The Idol.

On June 11, 2023, Blackpink was performing in Melbourne, Australia. During a song, Jennie suddenly exited the stage and did not return to the concert. Internet users pointed out how, in videos, Jennie had appeared to be relying on the stage setup for support and breathing heavily, and fellow Blackpink member Rose shared that she wasn’t feeling well earlier in the day.

According to Blackpink’s management company YG Entertainment, Jennie had to leave the concert “due to her deteriorating condition,” which was never further expanded upon.

Closing Thoughts

As mentioned before, it’s not responsible to the general public, nor respectful toward a total innocent stranger to weaponize their medical battles. However, the broader issue at hand is that when you see left-leaning voices shutting down people who bring up concerns over stories where otherwise healthy individuals mysteriously collapse or “die suddenly,” it begins to feel like people are collectively coming together to draw a veil over unfortunate truths.

Today, many people feel confused over what is truth and what is propaganda – understandably so. But, if a one-sided “truth” is pushed down everyone's throats and any dissenting hypotheses or examples which suggest a flaw in logic are silenced, how will we ever get real answers? The thing about science – that any honest medical professional should understand – is that it’s never settled. We need a culture of healthy debate because that brings forth a diversity of ideas and perspectives. On a small scale, productive discourse could improve interpersonal relationships, and on a large scale, it could potentially save lives.
